Stockton Inmate May Be Linked To Double Murder

The Stockton Police Department is now linking a current inmate to the deadly shooting of two security guards that happened over a year ago.

Sary Svay, 25, is behind bars and accused of gunning down a pair of security guards as they watched over Park Village Apartments almost a year and a half ago.

The maintenance worker discovered Claude Eugene McCormick and Oscar Cazares dead in matching unmarked patrol cars parked next to each other facing the complex.

The guards worked for AD Force Private Security assigned to patrol the area.

Early on, detectives say the double killing didn't appear to be random; there's a reason the gunman wanted the pair dead. Now, investigators are keeping quiet on a motive.

News of an arrest isn't comforting residents still haunted by the slayings.

"I don't believe one guy killed two people at the same time, they died in the car on the seat, not outside the car," says Se Siv, a concerned resident.

Investigators say Svay is a known gang member, and it's not clear if he lived in the crime ridden complex, or if he acted alone in the double murder.

In court on Thursday, neighbors said that they remembered seeing a group of young men running shortly after the murders occurred.
