One Dead In Stanislaus County Home Invasion

OAKDALE (CBS13) - Stanislaus County Sheriff's deputies say one suspect has died, another is injured and three others are in custody after a resident fought back during an alleged home invasion early Friday.

The incident apparently started in Hickman when the five suspects attempted a home invasion and the homeowner fire several shots.

The suspects fled by car but ended up flagging down another motorist near the intersection of Milnes and Oakdale-Waterford Highway because one of the suspects was unconscious.

When deputies arrived, they found the suspect's vehicle with several bullet holes through the windshield. The unconscious suspect was dead and another was also suffering from a gunshot wound.

Deputies arrested the driver of the suspect vehicle but two other suspects ran away on foot.

The Stanislaus County Sheriff's department helicopter was launched to help search for those suspects and they were later captured.
