LAPD To Release Alleged 'Grim Sleeper' Photos

LOS ANGELES (AP) -- Los Angeles police will release photos of women found in the possession of the suspected "Grim Sleeper" serial killer in hopes that someone will recognize them and contact investigators.

Police officials will release about 160 images on Thursday.

Homicide Det. Dennis Kilcoyne says investigators are trying to identify the women and determine whether they are alive.

Detectives found almost 1,000 photos and hundreds of hours of home video when they searched Lonnie Franklin Jr.'s South Los Angeles home in July.

Franklin has pleaded not guilty to sexually assaulting and killing 10 women from 1985 to 2007. A 14-year gap between assaults led police to dub the mysterious killer the "Grim Sleeper."
