Citizen's Photo Helps Track Modesto Bank Robbery Suspects
MODESTO (CBS13) – A concerned citizen helped Modesto police track down possible suspects in a morning bank robbery by snapping a quick picture of the getaway car as it sped away.
The robbery took place this morning at the Farmers and Merchant Bank at 901 North Carpenter Road.
A citizen, who realized what was happening, took a cell phone picture of the suspect's getaway car including the license plate.
Modesto police were able to track the license plate to a home in Modesto where they have detained five people.
Police are now trying to determine which, if any, of those people were involved in the bank robbery.
