Three people were seriously hurt in a Douglas Boulevard crash on Saturday, January 15, 2011.
ROSEVILLE, Calif. (CBS13) — A busy roadway was closed Saturday afternoon after a driver swerved directly into oncoming traffic, seriously injuring three people.
The Roseville Police Department said an elderly driver in a black Toyota Camry was traveling westbound on Douglas Boulevard at about noon when he possibly suffered a medical problem.
Police said a witness told them the driver slumped over for a few seconds before driving into a Kaiser Hospital parking lot. Moments later, the car barreled back over an embankment, swerved across the eastbound lanes and slammed head-on into a Chevrolet Trailblazer in the westbound lanes.
The elderly driver was critically injured. A father and a toddler were also hurt but are expected to recover.
Investigators say the roadway will likely be closed until Saturday night. The identities of the victims have not been released.
