Search For Citrus Heights Burglary Suspect Called Off
CITRUS HEIGHTS (CBS13) – Sacramento County Sheriff's deputies and Citrus Heights Police have called off a search for a burglary suspect who ditched a stolen vehicle and jumped into a nearby creek bed.
The search began after Citrus Heights Police were called to an apartment complex near San Pablo Drive and San Simeon Drive overnight by a resident who said someone in a dark SUV was breaking into his vehicle.
When police arrived, the SUV driver took off, hit another vehicle and then started running. He eventually jumped into a nearby creek bed.
Police, along with a Sacramento County Sheriff's K-9 unit, searched the area for the suspect.
The K-9 officers tracked the suspect all the way to Greenback Lane where they lost the trail. Deputies and police then called off the search just after 6 a.m.
