Serial Armed Robber Holding Up Carmichael Restaurants

CARMICHAEL, Calif. (CBS13) -- A serial robber who held up a packed Subway sandwich restaurant is believed to be the same man who has robbed at least five other stores in the past two months.

The masked suspect strode into the restaurant on the 5100 block of Fair Oaks Boulevard last week at about noon, waving his gun and ordering customers to hand over their wallets, according to store owner Susana Tapia.

"It took about a minute, but it seemed like forever," Tapia said.

The suspect told customers to stay still or he would shoot them, and then grabbed cash out of the register and fled with about $60, authorities said.

Sacramento Sheriff's deputies say the same suspect has held up six restaurants in total in the Carmichael area, four of which were Subway restaurants.

A witness in the most recent robbery trailed the suspect until he took his disguise off, according to authorities.

The suspect is described as a white or Hispanic male in his 20s, and was spotted driving a silver Acura.
