College Evacuated After Bomb Threat

PLACERVILLE (CBS13) – A community college student accused of making a bomb threat and bringing a possible weapon onto a Placerville school’s campus has been identified.

El Dorado County Sheriff’s deputies arrested 22-year-old Jason La Rue as the El Dorado campus of Folsom Lake College in Placerville was evacuated.

La Rue apparently entered the campus with a gun, and then proceeded to tell investigators that he may have planted an explosive on campus.

He was detained by deputies who discovered the rifle La Rue was carrying was an “airsoft gun”.

Deputies, with assistance from Los Rios Police, Sacramento County Sheriff and school staff, searched the campus for the devices.

They found several suspicious packages and detonated one. Eventually they discovered that none of the packages contained explosive material.

La Rue was booked into the county jail on charges of making a false bomb report and possession of a weapon on school grounds.

That’s weird…last Thursday there was a bomb threat at ARC. What the hell is wrong with people?

“Stupid is as Stupid does” This person could either be a mental case, drugged out, or just your average idiot looking for attention. Regardless it’s an act of stupidity. I think a few years on a chain gang with hard labor might just do the trick!

Maybe he could not afford tuition anymore so he gets arrested and put in prison to finish his degree in prison…FOR FREE

Not sure whats going on here in El Dorado County but our once nice quiet county has turned into a devistating reality of the ression that has hit! Businesses that have been open for 20-30+ years are closing and jobs are nill, people loosing their homes and it seems like all the Government is doing is fitting the bill for more agencies to go after the small businesses here. Its sad that the kids are effected by what their parents might be going through, not saying that this was the case here, but I see it everyday. SO SAD!!!

Lol this kid was in my english class, the funny thing is the first time i saw him i totally thought of that guy from virginia tech. guess i have good senses.
