Call Kurtis: Smackdown Redemption

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) --  A Sacramento kid was smacked down when the WWE tickets his family bought never showed up. When the event came and went, the family called Kurtis.

His family bought the tickets from a broker but they never got them and missed the big event over the summer.

We worked the phones and got this turned around for him.

13 year old Tyler Shotts ringside... finally up close and personal with his favorite WWE stars.

"Wow! Awesome seats," says Tyler.

It comes half a year after it was supposed to happen.

Tyler felt beat up when the tickets his family ordered from broker Prestige Entertainment for the August show at ARCO never showed.

"I was like so disappointed, I stopped watching wrestling for a little while. It got me so depressed you know," says Tyler.

They paid $365.90 for two ringside seats for him and his dad five months before the event.

More than a month out, when the tickets still hadn't arrived, Tyler's mom says she called Prestige because they were about to move.

"They said, you need to send us a change of address, so we did," says Dawn Shotts.

Here's her fax confirmation, proving it.

But they never got those tickets.

The show went on without Tyler and his dad.

Prestige Entertainment says they never got the change of address and mailed the tickets to Tyler's old house.

They sent us the FedEx tracking numbers to prove it.

They told us they did nothing wrong and refused to give Tyler a refund.

We then reached out to the WWE, which told us:

"WWE hates to see our fans being taken advantage of by unscrupulous ticket agencies."

They promised to make it right for Tyler and his family.

"This is awesome, I can't believe we're down here on the floor, you can see the ring from here, this is so exciting," says Dawn.

Instead of just Tyler and his dad, the WWE reserved four ringside seats for the entire family to Tuesday night's SmackDown at ARCO.

"I'm pumped man, this is going to awesome, I missed my last match and I can't wait to see this one, you know," says Tyler.

Tyler and his family feel like champs.

"This is a lifetime, this is something you'll always remember," says Dawn.

"Thank you Kurtis! You're the bomb man!" says Tyler.

We'd like to thank the WWE for making this happen.

The WWE says don't buy tickets from brokers.

Use authorized companies like Ticketmaster or go straight to the box office.
