NORTH HIGHLANDS (CBS13) – A woman has been shot in the back during what might have been a gang-related shooting in North Highlands.
The woman was driving a sedan at Rasario Blvd and Santa Fe Way when she apparently opened fire on a group of people walking along the road. The pedestrians then returned fire and hit the female driver, according to Sacramento County Sheriff’s Department spokesman Jason Ramos.
The woman was found in a car with a gunshot wound at 3704 Payne Ave. in North Highlands. She was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Sacramento Sheriff Deputies have detained the suspects who shot back at the woman, and are currently being questioned.
