Man Faces 3rd Strike For Molesting Daughter

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) -- A sex offender is facing life in prison after being convicted of sexually abusing his adult daughter, prosecutors said Wednesday.

Clive McGaw, 65, was convicted of three counts of sexual abuse of a dependent adult and one count of failing to register as a sex offender, which makes him eligible for a sentence of life in prison due to California's Three Strikes Law.

The Sacramento Police Department arrested McGaw in February 2008 after staff members at the UC Davis Medical Center saw him kissing and being groped by his 25-year-old daughter, who has Down syndrome.

Investigators determined that McGaw hadn't registered as a sex offender after past convictions of sexual abuse of two other children.

McGaw's sentencing hearing has been scheduled for April 8.
