Truck Slams Into Downed Tree In Knights Landing
KNIGHTS LANDING (CBS13) – A massive tree toppled in the early morning winds falling onto Highway 113 near Woodland. Unfortunately, one driver didn't see the downed tree in time and slammed right into it.
CHP got a call about the fallen tree about 4:00 a.m. and found it blocking the lanes of Highway 113 in Knights Landing. As they were putting down flares, a man driving a white pick up truck slammed into the massive trunk of the tree.
The driver told CBS13 that between the darkness and the slick road, he just couldn't avoid it. Luckily, he wasn't hurt. However his truck had to be towed.
The falling tree also took down some power lines. AT&T crews had to be called out to repair those.
