Time to control criminals, not guns. If law abiding citizens were prevented from having guns, the only ones who would have guns would be criminals. California residents with no criminal history, and no history of mental problems should be allowed to after passing training and annual qualifications should be given concealed weapons permits, like so many other states allow.
Prisons need to cut out the luxuries, no TV no weight lifting, if you don’t want to be in solitary confinement, you work the chain gang. Make it a place you don’t want to be.

Back in 1974 when I moved to Sac, nearly every store that I walk into had a poster. It pictured a “con” behind bars and stated, “Use a gun, Go to Jail”, in smaller print it explained “Use a gun in the commission of a crime and go to prison”. What ever happened to that? I believe it was struck down by then Justice of the California Supreme court Rose Byrd. So you legislators in Sac (who now are asking for the right to carry concealed), let’s put that law back in effect; with no plea bargaining on that charge. Let’s say, use a gun in the commission of a crime and you get an additional 10 years on top of whatever other charges we can muster. Let’s stop trying to rehabilitate criminals and make the terms of there incarceration such that they never want to see the inside of a cell again. Lock ‘em in, hose ‘em down through the bars for a shower (no one gets shanked in the shower that way). Give them a healthy form of gruel for nourishment. Exercise? Let them do calisthenics on their cells. Let ‘em out once a month into another cell to talk to family (and maybe their lawyer, but only for the first year). As far as Parole and time off for good behavior, nix those too. Parole should be done away with. Time off for good behavior should be changes to behave while you’re serving your sentence and we won’t add any more time to it. For all the bleeding hearts who think this is cruel, talk to the family that just lost their family member, or the victim that’s paralyzed. What that criminal did is far crueler than how than how he/she should be treated. Let’s stop treating criminals better than how the homeless have been living.

As far as legal, second amendment ownership of firearms; it’s a right, period. Stop labeling your laws as gun control and start labeling them as criminal control. In those laws, aim them at criminal activities not the legal use by law-abiding individuals. I could go on, but I won’t, at least for now.
