Sac State Student Killed While Riding Bike Identified

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) – A Sacramento State University student who died after being hit while riding her bike near campus early Friday morning has been identified.

The Sacramento County coroner has identified her as 22-year-old Arlene Sasse. 

Sasse was killed while riding her bike on J Street and Carlson Drive around 1:30 a.m.

Police say the Sasse was riding her bike when a woman in her 60's struck her with her car.  Sasse was transported to the hospital where she later died.

The driver says she did not see the bicyclist.   Police say the bicycle Sasse was riding did not have lights or reflectors.

 The accident is still being investigated.
