Millions Of Salmon Released Into The American River
SACRAMENTO (CBS13) - Salmon season is getting a boost today and tomorrow thanks to a massive salmon release in the American River.
The Department of Fish and Game is releasing three million young chinook salmon also known as "smolts."
The smolts were raised at the Nimbus Fish Hatchery.
Environmental scientists expect a higher than normal number will return giving anglers a better chance to catch one.
