FONTANA, Calif. (AP) — An elderly thief pulled a gun on a woman in a Southern California parking lot and demanded her purse.

Fontana police Sgt. Billy Green says the victim was walking to her vehicle in a Kohl’s department store parking lot at about 11 a.m. on Sunday when she was confronted by an armed woman believed to be about 80 years old.

The victim says the robber, whose face was covered by a bright flowered scarf, demanded the woman’s purse and the victim quickly handed it over.

The San Bernardino County Sun says the bandit then got into an older model, black sedan, and drove away.
