Fire Damages Large Carmichael Home

CARMICHAEL (CBS13) – Smoke detectors are being credited with saving three people when a fire broke out in a large Carmichael home overnight.

The flames broke out in the kitchen ceiling of the two-story home on Cenacle Lane near Fair Oaks Boulevard near Garfield just before 4:00 a.m.

The home was equipped with smoke detectors that automatically notify an alarm company.  The alarm company then alerted fire fighters.   In fact, the first fire fighters to arrive met the three people who lived in the home in the home's entryway as they were escaping the fire.

Fire fighters called out a second alarm after seeing the size of the home.  Most of the damage is reported in the home's kitchen area.

No one was hurt.
