One Dead, One Wounded In Motorcycle Accident

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) -- Two victims riding a motorcycle were injured Saturday evening, one fatally, after colliding with a sedan.

The Sacramento Police Department said the motorcycle slammed into the car near the intersection of North 16th Street and Richards Boulevard at about 5:50 p.m.

Investigators said initial reports indicate the car's driver ran a red light.

A man and a woman were taken to the hospital for treatment of head injuries. Authorities said Saturday night that the female victim died from her wounds.

The victims' identities have not been released.
