No seat belts? Hard to get ejected with them on or airbags etc………..

Could have be worse i guess

Hi: Just drove I-80 through the storm… I want to take a different way back home. Left home for sunshine only to get more rain and even snow I-80 was closed for a day and it was a big mess.

This is just horrible… I read the other article about this…. A little more detail…

The Girls were only 20 years old… I pray that the girl with the broken back makes a full recovery, although it is highly unlikely.

They were going home from a party, where there was alcohol served, and they beleive they had been drinking.

When are people going to start looking out for one another…??? The Host of the party should have been aware that these girls were going to drive drunk… The host should have taken their keys, in fact, the host should have taken everybody’s keys at the begining of the party, and only those who were sober would get their keys to leave, and the others would just either take a cab home, or stay as a guest of the host.

20 years old….. That was way to young to die, and die the way she did… I can not get that picture out of my head, of her flying and flipping over the guardrail and flying into traffic, going westbound, and being hit several times by other cars…. Can you just imagine if you were a driver of one of the other cars??? How horrible… I and probably many others are going to have some bad nightmares tonight…

I am so sorry for the families of these two…. And thank god the other 2 that she clipped on the freeway were not hurt, or so the article says….

Please say a prayer for the young girl who has broken her back…. I just can’t imagine what she must be going through… And the families, pray for them to have the strength to get through this ordeal. Pray that they are blessed with good health and that at some point, that their spirits are lifted and feel some peace.

Like my dad used to say… nothing good ever happens after midnight. These girls were drinking and out driving at 2 a.m. Recipe for disaster.

how sad, saw a old lady once in that same area in a Suburu in roll it and come out of the car on I80. the car I’m sure had lap belts and attached shoulder belts, and the lady didn’t fasten her lap belt and as the car went over and the door flew open she went out! I saw on the news once about these type of belts and how this happens. My coustin had a Escort once that had thses belts and I lectured her about making sure her lap belt was fastened

Call me a naive Kansas girl, I don’t care – but as a new CA transplant, the first thing I’ve noticed is the unbelievable careless, rude, dangerous driving. Putting on a blinker means you tell the guy behind you to SPEED UP AND PASS YOU FAST so that you can’t get in front of them (God forbid). Merging is not for the faint of heart, or timid.. the drivers behind me get so close to my bumper I can see their pupils (and I’m not a slow driver)… and dare I try to leave some space between myself and the car ahead of me – as that’s a call to other drivers to FILL the space quickly. Yesterday, I watched a honda sedan weave so closely between cars of all lanes – nearly causing no less than 3 near-accidents – only to slow down later – the occupants laughing – having done all the weaving and cutting off of drivers for nothing. I’ve lived all over the world, I’ve driven the autobahn for years, I’ve driven in 3rd world countries with no traffic laws, and I’ve driven in countries that drive on the opposite side of the road.. and never have I encountered such horrible drivers. (

Agreed…Midwestern transplant here and concur with all of the above. Many more bad drivers on average here. Will be very cautious until I can leave this mess.

SHE IS WELL RECOVERING- HER BACK IS ONLY FRACTURED ALSO A COUPLE FRACTURED RIBS, MAINLY ROAD RASH, BUMPS, AND BRUISES. Oh it’s the coward with bad Karma. That idiot as you call her was my step-daughter, my son is on his way home through the red cross. Because he is serving our great country so idiots like you can make mean and melisious comments about the death of his baby sister. My boys are devistated as is the rest of the family. Krystal Sigler was a personal friend of mine in high school. I believe that she shouldn’t be criticized for her choices by people who never even knew her. She paid her price and made an impact on my whole town. The day she died it was like grey sadness swept over everyone and everything. She was in my drama class my freshman year when i met her, and saturday night during our play we dedicated the show to her and left a seat empty in the front row. She was supposed to be there that night but met death early that morning. I feel sorry for those who didn’t know her. She was a beautiful, talented, and fun girl. You all may say she got what she deserved for drinking and driving, but nobody deserves to die for one mistake.
I love krystal, and I’ll never forget her. All the cynical comments and people on here obviously have never known pain, or are just too proud to admit it. Either way, you never knew her, and despite her bad choices, you have no right to talk about her.

It was a tragic accident and I can’t even begin or want to imagine the sequence of events.

Thank you to all of those who offer their sympathy and condolences. She will be greatly missed.

the girl who passed was a girl i dated this year and my valentines date. and this news was a shock to myself and the whole community. it has taken its toll. i still cant sleep. please try to not say the girls are stupid bc im pretty sure they know whats they did. people lost a sweet woman who always made the right choices but the one night she doesnt it is her last. everyone makes mistakes and we must live from them. she didnt deserve this and it kills me to know shes gone. we dont know why seatbelts werent worn but god had a bigger plan for her and shes here watching over me, the passenger, who i will not name, and everyone else she touched with her huge smile and oh so sweet voice. i loved her and regret not letting her know everyday but i know shes here and watching. the family and friends who knew her are in pain so just please read your posts before submitting. they do nothing but sting us of how she left this world….. rip my angel. i love you. and to the passenger. get well. be safe and learn. :/

krystal did not have a single mean bone in her body. she was always smiles and stood up for what she believed in and what she thought. she was someone i wished i could be, deep down, with a heart of gold. dont presume to judge for when the time comes you too, shall also be judged.. she lives within me and the others in this town and is protecting us.. i k now shes with me, i feel her, and she would want everyone to just keep her memory alive and remember her for who she was, not for what she did.. i can get mad about what happened all i want but it wont bring her back. and you inconsiderate bloggers with no respect think its okay to state what you wish because its online. nooo. someone is always watching and is always listening. have some remorse for the ones who lost their angel in person, and now have to have her as a gaurdian angel instead..to my krystal baby: rip my babygirl. ill be seeing you in my dreams and as i close my eyes. i love you krystal!.. now and forever.. watch over me and your family, they love you so much, and i do tooo. :/

I really feel for your loss – and I am greatly disturbed by some of the heartless comments. Whether she was drunk, or not, no one deserves to die like that. I am just glad to hear that there were not as many injuries as there could have been.
