Firefighter Accused Of Sexual Misconduct

FRENCH CAMP, Calif. (CBS13) -- News that a firefighter accused of sexual misconduct may be reinstated drew sharp criticism from a woman who says officials are covering up the scandal.

A woman who says she was victimized by Brandon Jake Wilson in 2007 at a French Camp District fire station says he touched her inappropriately and tried to push his hands down her pants. Wilson then allegedly asked her to have sex in the fire engine.

The woman said she had to push Wilson away and left immediately.

"I know they're covering it up, it's wrong," she said.

A confidential internal investigation uncovered by CBS13 also reveals an interview with a woman who said she dated Wilson in 2008 and had sex in the engine on a few occasions. Another firefighter in that report says he walked in on Wilson and a woman in a sexually compromising position.

Wilson was charged with rape in 1999, according to Stanislaus County Superior Court records, but the case was dismissed.

Tempers flared at a fire district board meeting on May 2, when the board decided they may reinstate Wilson.

Officials declined to speak on camera about the allegations. A fire board statement said, "In regards to the allegations against Mr. Wilson, we find them very serious and disturbing and in no way are we trying to cover anything up. There are allegations that are being investigated but we have to look at all legal options."
