FAIRFIELD, Calif. (AP) – Authorities say more than a dozen people were injured after a tour bus carrying a driver and 49 passengers crashed alongside Interstate 80 near Fairfield.

California Highway Patrol Officer Ralph Caggiano says 13 individuals were transported from the scene by ambulance. He did not know the extent of the injuries but said none of them were thought to be life-threatening.

Caggiano says the crash was reported shortly before 4:30 p.m. Monday on Lyon Road south of Cherry Glen Road in an unincorporated part of Solano County. He says it appears the bus had just exited the freeway.

Authorities do not believe any other vehicles were involved.

The CHP remained on the scene investigating Monday evening.
