While I wonder how anyone can abandon a child in the first place – I can’t understand why it takes almost 5 months before the police department requests information.

  • Rashell

I agree! Why so long to ask for help? Are they releasing a picture?

  • Barbie

AWWWWWWwwwwww Such a cutee, Hope she finds her family.

  • Jamie Griffin Mutch

Oh, heart breaking. She is a doll. I would take her into my family in a second!

  • Cody

Really Barbie!?!? You hope she finds her family that left her in a hospital and hasnt been looking for her since JANUARY?!? Yeah i hope she finds that family alright, only to be abused/neglected some more! Get real, I hope she finds a family that will love her and not “forget” about her…for five months!!

  • GRAPEVINE

God I pray you put a hedge of protection around her, and God bless her

  • cindy

AMEN CODY! She needs a family that finds her, loves her and does not abandon her like her other family did. Her biological family does not need her back and any judge in his or her right mind would not grant that child to go back to them. They left her at a hospital. While that is better than killing her or dropping her off in the middle of no where, it is still wrong. Yes Barbie she is cute. And I am thinking Barbie meant that she hopes this little girl finds her family – not necessarily her biological family but a family that loves her.

  • Kelly

I think the law is, and I’m not an expert, if a child is abandoned for 6 months, the parent or parents automatically lose their rights. Maybe that’s why the cops waited till the last month before they “attempt” to find her family in hopes that 6 months comes and goes and a real family can adopt her.

  • Katy

I thought the law was if you dropped off a child at a hospital that there were to be no questions asked. I agree it is wrong, but is better than the alternative of having the parent or parents that couldn’t care for her and may possibly abuse her.

  • Kelly Whitsell

if the child is less then 48 hours old that applies that is for newborns it is not for 2 and 3 year old children that was heartless and they should be put under the jail i have a 2 1/2 year old i could not imagine how it would hurt her if i just walked off and left her so many heartless people in the world that is why i think they should have mandatory sterilizations for mothers like this one

  • Tapestry

Katy I heard that too, leave the child at a hospital or police station you won’t be prosecuted. This is to stop parents from harming the child and getting them a good home. It was singed in September 28,,2000 the little one is baby in my book. Uunder the age of 4 should be covered under the law. They can barely talk they wouldn’t know their address or phone number; they certainly don’t go to school yet. I think she should be covered under the law.

  • David

Law enforcement investigators should contact local hospitals cross reference the DNA profile along with feet and hand prints to locate the biological parents along with county records would have information on the adoptive family as well , however this little princess needs a loving caring family just like some of us commenters. my family would also love to be a parent for this little giir.l

  • Deuce

She is most likely the product of an illegal immigrant therefore the chances of a successful DNA match would be slim to none.
All the more reason to control the influx of illegals into our state and country.

  • old fart

So sad something must have happend to her parents they must have got killed theres no way someone could leave their little baby girl alone like that.

  • Jeannie McClusky

The only reason I’d like to see them locate the biological parents, is to prosecute them. My hope for this little angel is that she is adopted by a family full of love and compassion, that will cherish her always!

  • Kelly Whitsell

I’m sorry i don’t agree if you don’t want a baby give it up for adoption it is cruel to leave a child that old and they don’t understand I think it is selfish and should be prosecuted you can turn children in at that age to be adopted without being prosecuted you just cant leave them!!!!!!!!! It should be illegal and is illegal!!!!!!

  • non

Whatever her background, her parents. She seems a lovely baby girl. Hope someone would come w/ good compassion and care for her. No kids desired any hostile environment or evil means. Let’s make this a better world and should consideration.

  • Chrissy Pierman

She may have family that don’t know she needs them, last year i found out i had a 3 year old grandson who had been in foster care due to drug use and neglect by the mother, who also did not advise the father that he had a son, I have since adopted this beautiful child who is doing very well with his biological family, just because the mother or father mistreats a child does not mean that the rest of the family will, i fell in love with this child the moment i met him when he put his little arms around my neck and i could feel his pain and desire for some one to love and want him, this beautiful little girl has to have extended family out there somewhere and i hope they find them, only then can the state determine if they are an appropriate placement, my prayers go out to this pretty baby, i know how scared she is, i seen it in my baby when i got him, so NO the mother should NEVER get this child back but there is family out there some where that does’t yet know she needs help.

  • camore

The parents should never get her back. Leaving an animal abandoned is bad enough, but imagine how this child felt when her mommy didn’t come back. Even if the child was mistreated by the parents, she only knows this as her mom. She can’t figure out why she was left. She should never be reunited with these people.

  • Jonathan

I hope she does’nt I hope she gets adopted by a loving caring one instead.

  • Ginger

I agree with Chrissy on this one… She may not even be from this state, she could of been stolen from a very loving family, who knows the real story… Unfortantely, the only one who can tell us is the one who left her at the hospital. Well I don’t see that happening anytime soon. Especially with a fear of being prosecuted… All we can do is pray for her, and hope that she ends up in a loving home.

  • Katy

Imagine how this child is going feel later in life if someone shows her that her picture was posted on the internet. One has to wonder…will she feel grateful that someone was interested enough to try to find her parents…or will she feel sad, mad, embarassed? Hopefully she will find a wonderful family that will know how to deal with these issues when they arise. She is a very adorable child.

  • Wallace

So where has this little girl been living for the past six months and with who may I ask besides another foster family she needs a real family not just another place for the state to pay for her care

  • sw33tz

She such a cutie! I would adopt her if they would let me, well at least she was left at a hospital it could have been worse. As a mother myself i dont know how some parents can abandoned their own child, how do they sleep at night??! How do you walk away from an innocent little girl child =(. Poor child she must have been so scared.

  • Bargoo

It is tragis that she was abandoned, but better to be abondoned than be murdered which has happened in far too many cases.

  • rc

being abandoned was probably the best thing her deadbeat parents ever did for her i hope a loving family gets her and raises her properly and preferably NOT in Stockton <- (dump)

  • rc

    dude…stockton…ok

  • Donna

    She’s an illegal alien!

  • kay

Thank God that the child was abandoned , she now has a chance for a real life.
Maybe thats all the mother wanted for her.We don’t understand but maybe the
mother understood this was best for the child.

  • camore

Why is everything “illegal immigrants” doing? Maybe it was, but you have to jump to conclusions right away. There are enough white an black people that do the same thing.. Every thing is “illegal immigrants” fault. God are you stupid. I wish idiots like you would leave the country.

  • Dave

    She looks like Arnold. HUMMMMMMMMMM

  • KBright

Really .??? Do you have teenagers??

  • Maggi Andersen

The Safe Haven law in California applies only to infants 72 hours old or younger. This child’s parents were breaking the law by abandoning her, but if it means she’ll find a home where people love and care for her, well then I’m glad they did it. Better she get into a real, loving home than stay with neglectful people.

  • kelly

How do you know something didn’t happen to her mom like the mom in Ohio I believe who was found in a pond while her baby was left in her car seat in the car with the car running? How do you know the mom wasn’t ill and dropped her off? How do you know she wasn’t kidnapped and then they changed their mind?

  • jennifer

what about the family that has had her and has been taken care of her and has grown to love her what about their rights they didn’t throw her away like trash her birth family didn’t even report her missing her birth doesn’t deserve her

  • jennifer

she isnt a illegal alien she is a child shame on you

  • Concerned Relative

This little girl has been living with a family who loves and cares for her for the past several months. It will be devastating to all of us who have grown attached to her to lose her to “relatives” who have not pursued her all of this time. Her new family intend to love and provide her opportunities she would not have otherwise had.

  • Holly Ames

It is possible her real family has had something terrible happen and the rest of the family doesnt know about it. One shouldnt assume they “threw” her away.

  • another concerned relative

we do love her ver much and she is part of our family…

  • ron

She’s probably an anchor roach, And should be deported A.S.A.P!!

  • ron

I agree… These illegal (Criminals) Roaches should be deported at ANY AGE. These people cost us 10 billion annually just in food stamps.

  • family

@ ron how can u look at yrself that child is my niece and she is beautiful she is not a illegal alien or a anchor roach she is our family and i would dare someone this mess to our faces

  • ron

God.. I pray they deport her, We can’t even take care of our own people!

  • ron

So.. do you think MS 13 is cute also?

  • ron

Aliens are the down fall of America. And i don’t love Criminals or their Children. Deport!

  • momof2

God bless you and your family for taking care of this beautiful little girl. I hope they find her family to answer some questions but hope she stays where she is loved and will grow to become a beautiful woman.

  • momof2

ron- Do you need attention is that your problem? Say something relevant…

  • Postone

If the police would get out of their cars and start walking a beat and doing real police work they wouldn’t have to ask the public for help they would already know!

  • save the children

I was under the impression that it was not against the law if you left a baby or child that you could not care for(feed, house etc..)some where safe such as a fire dept. or hospital, instead of killing and dumping the child in a dumpster.

  • perplexed

This little girl was clean and in excellent health no bruieses or signs of any neglect who ever left her in that emergency room was obviously stressed or desperate and wanted her baby cared for because she no longer was able to. Also why a postage stamp sized picture of the little tyk if they want someone to recognize her?

  • sara

Its a sad story but everyone who is bashing on her parents need to take a step back and consider all the possibilities first. There are many “what ifs”, and no one knows for sure how she ended up there or who left her. She may very well have been kidnapped or something horrible may have happened to her parents, who knows…but please don’t judge. Its not your place.

  • hsmith

Hope fully this isn’t a missing child and was abandoned by a family that couldn’t care for her. Thank God she was found and now is in a safe & loving home. God bless her and those that are taking care of her now.

  • ron

Nothing cute about an Anchor Child, who will grow on our (Taxpaying) System. Another reason to deport.

  • hsmith

Ron I am latino, & didn’t have 5 kids by the time I was 18. I have one child and a Master’s degree that no one payed for but me. So your idiotic assumptions are incorrect…..as usual.

  • concerned_reader88

    Her parents are probably Illegals!

  • DW

The safe surrender only applied to newborns up to 72 hours old..

  • Unclesmrgol Dragon

I would say that abandoning a child at a hospital, where the abandoners know she will receive care, is not throwing her away like trash. They made sure that she would be in a good place. As others have pointed out here, throwing her away like trash would have meant killing her first.

You may love this little girl, but it’s obvious that whoever left her loved her too. That you currently have her is a consequence of that love.

  • ronslatinalover

you and ron are such racist idiots. it’s embarrassing to read your comments because they are so stupid and false.

  • ron

Another non American with blinders on. It just a matter of time when a illegal roach affects you or your family’s life. Keep turning the other cheek you pos.

  • ron

Let me just say..Do you know what Mexico looks like? Coming soon to a City near you. So hide your Children and Animals .

  • Rose Martin

its a shame that this child has to be in this situation. I think the parents dd the right thing for her by droping her off in a safe place. Horriable things happen to small children all the time. I think that if there was another option for this child the parents would have sought it out, this must have been the lesser evil. I have seen what happens to parents who have children that are unwanted and its not pretty at least this child has a chance now.

  • dave

    Hope she’s deported !!

  • dave

AWWWWWW. Another bill for tax payers. CLOSE THE BORDERS!!

  • dave

Of course you would Adopt her, She’s a meal ticket. That’s why she’s here in the first place.

  • Hsmith

uhhh Ron, were you not edumacated? Parts of the US did belong to Mexico. There were brown people ion the northern continent way before the whites came & killed everything that moved off. Ever notice how only white people think it’s a good idea to hike through blizzards & then get lost for weeks & die of exposure? My co-workers & I were making that observation the other day. Just an observation…
