Video Of Botched Target Burglary Released

DAVIS, Calif. (CBS13) -- Investigators hope the release of video showing a bold, but ultimately unsuccessful, burglary of an ATM inside a Target supermarket leads to the arrest of the culprits.

The Davis Police Department said two suspects rammed a full-size Dodge pickup truck through the front doors of the store just after 3:00 a.m. Sunday, driving into the store and backing up to the ATM near the customer service desk.

The video shows the two suspects attaching a cable to the machine and attempting to rip it free with the truck, but after fruitlessly spinning its wheels, the cable broke.

The suspects fled on foot, leaving the truck behind.

The truck was identified as a vehicle stolen earlier in Yolo County.

The estimated cost of the damage was greater than $100,000, store representatives said. Anyone with information on the suspects is asked to contact the Davis Police Department at (530) 747-5400.
