Audio: The Grant Napear Show – May 31, 2011

Jason and Drew are back to enjoy their final day with the keys to the car before Grant returns tomorrow. Jim Tressel’s resignation is the big topic of the day, with Jason and Drew taking calls on how to repair the NCAA student-athlete system.

49ers GM Trent Baalke stole the spotlight briefly to discuss how the franchise is handling the current lockout.

The guys were then joined by Tim Brando of CBS Sports to return to Tressel Talk on KHTK. Brando speculates that, at the very least, Ohio State is facing sanctions similar to that of USC.

After fielding a few more calls, Mayor of West Sacramento Chris Cabaldon called in to spread the word of Mayor Johnson’s “Here We Build” committee, designed to explore funding options for a new arena in Sacramento.

Closing out the final hour, Jodi hopped behind the mic to spit fire for a few minutes during Bacon Bits, lamenting the ill-timed sports-related text message. Jodi, Jason, and Drew also debated the merits of “Hangover 2”.

Former King Michael “Yogi” Stewart then finished off the show with a call-in to update Kings’ fans on what the former Kings’ ballboy has been doing since leaving the NBA.
