Copper Thieves Hit Hardware Store In Sacramento

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) — Sacramento County Sheriff’s detectives are trying to track down the thief or thieves who stole copper from an electrical box behind a hardware store in Sacramento overnight.

The theft happened behind the Orchard Supply Hardware store on Arden Way and Watt Avenue. The suspects used a chain and a car to rip the lock off the electrical box, stealing some copper wiring.

SMUD is making repairs to the box.

No suspects have been identified.

    As long as recycling companies are allowed to receive copper from the general public, this crime will continue to be a burden to society.

    why don’t you follow the ones you have already arrested for this crime.
    the recycling companies are in on it as well. so it will only continue. Summer is here, watch our schools closley and protrol them by our own parents of our school kids. these guys think we owe them this copper. it will not stop till the main ring leaders are caught

    In the Arden area we all know who they are……..all it takes is the Sac Sheriff to do their job. There out there Sheriff Dept. every night, ripping off copper, stealing recyclable products from the County of Sac’s recycle cans, stalking bikes, all you items you left in your car and lets not forget ‘ lock your garage!
