Audio: The Grant Napear Show – June 9, 2011

Big news in Oakland as the A’s replaced manager Bob Geren with Bob Melvin – Paul Gutierrez of Comcast SportsNet joined Grant in the first segment to discuss the reaction around the A’s clubhouse.

ESPN NFL Analyst Trent Dilfer was live with Grant at Edgewood in Lake Tahoe to close out the final hour, talking about Alex Smith’s chances for success in the upcoming season – assuming the lockout gets resolved. He also talks about next month’s American Century Championship at Edgewood.

A 36-year-old Allen Iverson is considering a comeback to the NBA, drawing Grant’s ire during his Rant. If A.I. couldn’t do it at 35, so why would he be able to do it with another year on his body?

NBA Legend (and the newest member of the Golden State Warriors) Jerry West talked about his new job and explained a little about what drove him to take the position with the Warriors. He also discussed the hiring of Mark Jackson as the team’s next Head Coach.

Grant finished off today’s show with replays of the Trent Dilfer interview and yesterday’s spot with Charles Barkley.
