The flag is woven with more than ten thousand California residents’ heartfelt messages of encouragement and hope in the midst of our current economic crisis and hardships.

That’s a really good idea and it looks amazing! It’s very encouraging to see our state come together like this…I know this past year hasn’t been easy, but seeing everyone on the same page toward improvement of our community and a positive attitude for change really encourages me! I wouldn’t have known everyone felt this passionate otherwise…so thank you for putting the time into making this! it’s certainly an encouragement to me and I’m sure the same for the rest of us Californians :) .

wow, this is such a beautiful display of our flag! what an amazing group for doing such a a great thing for our state. this really shows me that real volunteerism does exist in the world, inspires me to get more involved in helping my own community =)

At first glance, it is a mere flag. But upon much speculation, the dedication and the livelihood required of the people that signed the flag and directed it, is enormous. Taking the time off busy schedules all to write words of encouragement when even the word “hope” seems like a far-fetched concept during tough times is at best encouraging. Thank you to all of you who provided words of encouragement, and I hope all the voices that partook in this work will ring loudly in the ears of the governing authorities and this whole nation to grasp unto this ‘hope’ called complete restoration….

I could never imagine doing anything like this. A brilliant idea to create a flag with personal messages of hope from those within the California community, not to mention 10,000 signatures! And to also display it in front of the state capital shows huge effort and tremendous thought on behalf of this mannam group. Hope they can do this again so I can see it for myself. I’m diggin’ this (:

whhhaaaaat!! that’s so awesome!. they really put the ‘art’ in ‘heartfelt.’ I’d love to read what Californians wrote on the flag. i can’t believe every single colored part is full of messages of support and hope- it must have taken like thousands and thousands of people. I really feel the love congregating on this flag and with Mannam Volunteer group. I hope they bring the flag around to more places to share this positive message with the rest of California. I know lots of people need the boost in confidence, and seeing GOOD news like this on cbs is SUCH a breath of fresh air. Everybody share this and share the love!! Great job Mannam!!

I was walking by the capitol on Monday, and saw this out there. It was a really neat experience to see all those people working together to bring Californians closer. It is a tough time right now with the economy it’s nice to see this Mannam volunteers group going in a positive direction.

I ran out of my house to see the flag for myself when I saw it on TV. The flag was so big and it was really amazing seeing it up close. I was particularly very touched by one of the messages that said, “There has never been a better time to unite other than today. If not now, when?” I believe the time to really change has come and I’m very thankful this Mannam volunteer group has initiated this movement of unity within the hearts of California. It must have taken a lot of effort from this organization to put together something like this. Keep up the good work!

  • Jackie

WOW. Way to go Mannam! This flag is so neat! It must have taken so much time and effort to complete….holy smokes 10,000 signatures! I’m so encouraged by this group’s dedication in raising the morale of the state. I really think that California residents will be reminded of the importance of unity & working for the good of the people every time they look at this flag. Thank you so much for doing this Mannam, really. God bless you guys!

  • Mrs.Leek
