Mom Arrested, Teen On The Run After Allegedly Shooting Another Teen In Lincoln

LINCOLN (CBS13) – A Lincoln mother is behind bars and her teenage son is on the run after he allegedly shot another teen and she helped hide her son, according to police.

Lincoln Police say they were called to the 900 block of First Street on Thursday night around 10:45 after getting reports of multiple shots fired.

Officers arrived and found a 17-year-old boy with a gunshot wound to his leg. He was taken to Sutter Roseville Hospital where he was treated and later released.

Police say the incident started as an argument between the two teens but quickly involved the mother, 37-year-old Lavada Keen.  Keen allegedly tried to rundown the 17-year-old.  When that failed, her son allegedly shot the teen.  Keen then drove away with her son.

Keen later returned without her son.  She was arrested and booked into the Placer County Jail for assault with a deadly weapon and concealing a felon.

Police have not been able to find her son or the gun used in the shooting.  They are not releasing his name because he is a minor.

Anyone with information about the shooting or the suspect is asked to call Detective J. Maschmeyer at 916-645-4040.
