Sacramento Police Release Suspect Sketch In May Shooting Death

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) - Sacramento police have released a suspect sketch and new images of the suspect's car from a murder in May.

 The murder took place on Marla Way on May 19 when a man walked up to the door of a home and shot 53-year-old Balbir Dhami and his wife.

Balbir, who was awaiting sentencing for drug trafficking, was killed.  His wife survived the shooting.

Police now have a sketch of the suspect.  He's described as a male black, short, thin build, short hair, wearing a yellow sweatshirt.

The suspect vehicle is believed to be a 1999-2003 4-door gold Mazda Protégé or 323 with a black hood, black front and rear bumpers.

The Sacramento Police Department is asking anyone with information about this shooting to contact Crime Alert at (916) 443-HELP (4357) or text in a tip to 274637 (CRIMES). Enter SACTIP followed by the tip information.  Callers can remain anonymous and may be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000.
