Tragic Accident Leads To Death Of Stockton Toddler

STOCKTON, Calif. (CBS13) -- A child was accidentally killed Saturday evening when her father accidentally ran over her, authorities said.

The California Highway Patrol said a father was backing his vehicle out of his driveway near Elvin Avenue and Del Mar Avenue when his 18-month-daughter ran behind the van.

The girl was hit by the vehicle and was rushed to St. Joseph's Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

Authorities are continuing to investigate but say the incident appears to have been completely accidental.
