Teen Escapes Kidnapping Attempt In Stockton

STOCKTON, Calif. (CBS13) – A teen girl narrowly escaped an unknown suspect who attempted to kidnap her while she was walking home from a library, authorities said, and the suspect has not been apprehended.

The Stockton Police Department said the 17-year-old victim was walking near West Oak Street and North Madison Street when a driver in a brown van began yelling at her.

The girl told authorities that the driver stopped the vehicle and grabbed her from behind when she didn't respond to him.

Police said the victim was able to break free and run to a nearby bus stop, where she was able to call her family for help.

The suspect is described as a white male adult, 6 feet tall, about 200 pounds, with black hair.
