Feds Dumping More Water From Folsom Lake To Make Room For June Rain

FOLSOM (CBS13) – Federal officials are dumping more water from Folsom to make way for rain and runoff from this week's late storm and they are warning people to be cautious if they head out to the American River.

The Federal Bureau of Reclamation is increasing the flow from Folsom Lake from 8,000 to 11,000 cubic feet per second.

Officials say that flows at 10,000 cubic feet per second and higher can flood some low-lying areas of Discovery Park, Campus Commons and sections of the American River Parkway bike trail.
