SACRAMENTO (CBS13) — A man was arrested Tuesday for allegedly trying to take a loaded gun through a security checkpoint at Sacramento International Airport.
Tam Nguyen, 49, of Sacramento was arrested at 1 p.m. at Terminal B after TSA screeners reportedly found a gun at the bottom of his backpack that was loaded with several rounds of ammunition, according to Sacramento County Sheriff’s Department spokesman Deputy Jason Ramos.
Nguyen was headed to Mississippi.
Sheriff’s deputies arrested Nguyen without incident and booked him into the Sacramento County Main Jail on charges of unlawful possession of a loaded, concealed firearm and unlawful possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
Nguyen is being held on $60,000 bail and is scheduled to be arraigned this week.
