Police Identify Victim Shot And Killed By Police In Suisun City

SUISUN CITY, Calif. (CBS13) – Police have identified a suspect who was shot and  killed after brandishing a weapon in a senior center and refusing to drop his weapon.

The Suisun City Police Department say the 55-year-old Bernardo Ararao walked into the Suisun City Senior Center at about 11:30 a.m. Wednesday with a gun and wearing camouflage clothing, cryptically telling employees he was "going on assignment."

Employees asked if they could help him, but Ararao  walked back outside.

Officers surrounded the suspect outside the center and ordered him to drop the gun, according to witnesses.

Police opened fire and fatally wounded the suspect.  The Solano County District Attorney is investigating the shooting and says four officers were on the scene, however only one fire their weapon.

Ararao was shot in the chest.
