California's First Couple To Meet Royal Couple

SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) -- California Gov. Jerry Brown and first lady Anne Gust Brown will greet Prince William and his wife, the former Kate Middleton, when they arrive in Los Angeles next week.

Brown's office on Friday announced the governor's itinerary during the official visit to California by the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge. The royal couple began their North American visit in Canada this week.

Brown and other officials will greet the couple when they arrive at Los Angeles International Airport on July 8. They will attend a reception that evening for the couple hosted by the British consul general, Dame Barbara Hay.

The royal couple is scheduled to attend a charity polo match in Santa Barbara the next day, followed by a black-tie dinner to introduce British film talent to Hollywood executives.
