Six Shootings Hit Stockton In Single Day

STOCKTON, Calif. (CBS13) – A series of shootings rippled across Stockton in a single day, wounding at least five people, including three teenagers at a graduation party, authorities said.

The Stockton Police Department said the three teens, ages 18, 14, and 13, were attending a party at a home on Kyle Court near Lan Ark Drive when a fight broke out between partygoers and a group of unidentified teenagers who were asked to leave the party just after 11:30 p.m.

One of the teens, described as a black male wearing a white hat, pulled out a handgun and opened fire, striking the 18-year-old victim in his abdomen, both arms and both legs, and wounding the younger victims in their legs. All of the victims are expected to survive.

Three other shootings happened within 90 minutes of the incident, police said.

The first took place just before 11:00 p.m. on the 600 block of Argonaut Court, when a 66-year-old resident heard a loud bang and found a .45-caliber bullet inside their kitchen. No injuries were reported.

More shots were fired on the 800 block of South Golden Gate Avenue just before 11:30 p.m., investigators said. Officers found a vehicle with three uninjured female occupants that had multiple bullet holes, and two male victims transported themselves to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The victims and witnesses were not cooperative and police have not made any arrests.

The final shooting took place just after midnight on the 2800 block of Otto Drive when a woman spotted two suspects walking away from a party and opening fire. The woman was slightly cut by flying glass.

The suspects in the final shooting are described as black male adults in their early 20s. One was approximately 5'8" to 5'10", about 200 pounds, and the second suspect was about 6'0" with an average build.

Two other shootings took place earlier Friday but no serious injuries were reported.

Anyone with information on any of the incidents is asked to contact the Stockton Police Department.
