SACRAMENTO (CBS13) – The main headquarters of the Sacramento Police and Fire departments were evacuated due to a hazardous materials situation Tuesday morning.

The building, located at 5770 Freeport Boulevard, was evacuated just before 11:00.

Faulty vents on a generator that had been started caused fumes to build up inside the building. Two workers reported felling ill.

Crews aired out the building and workers were allowed back to work before noon.
