Man Arrested After Slapping Buttocks Of Teen Girls In Sacramento

SACRAMENTO, Calif. (CBS13) – Sacramento police have arrested a man they say slapped the buttocks of two teen girls as they shopped in an area mall on Tuesday.

Officers arrested 32-year-old Zachary Gomez.

Police say the 14-year-old girls were shopping at Arden Fair Mall when a man came up and slapped one girl on the rear end.

The girls immediately moved to leave the store but the suspect followed and slapped the other teen on the buttocks as well, according to police.

The teens went to another store but were again followed by the suspect who then tried to grab one of the girls on the arm.

The suspect then left.

Officers were called and later spotted the suspect who ran. After a brief foot chase, officers arrested Gomez.

Gomez was also wanted on an outstanding warrant.

Gomez is being held in the Sacramento County Jail on $155,000 bail.

Should it matter how the girls were dressed? What he did was totally inappropriate not to mention, creepy!!! If his actions had progressed to something more serious, would you blame the victims for the way they were dressed? I happen to know these girls personally. It doesn’t matter how they were dressed, but if it really matters to you so much..they dress like punk rock kids. I know everyone is so quick to judge because of how some teenage girls dress. This is not the case in this situation. I am just glad they both got away safely. On another note they aren’t even from the area. Just on vacation visiting family.

One of the victims was my daughter. She is a 4.0 gate student who does not dress inappropriately. This man has a long and violent criminal history. For those of you leaving rude comments be thankful that my daughter and her friend reported the incident and be thankful the police caught this guy. Otherwise you or one of your loved ones may have been his next victim. I’d like to point out that he didn’t “just” slap them on the butt. He tried to ABDUCT them.

I can tell you that, that was the scariest night for me and my friends. When we heard this story we just felt really sorry for your daughters because we know how it felt for them to go through that. We are glad that he is in jail and hopefully not comng out for awhile. Tell your daughters that we know how scary that kinda thing is………. He was a bad man. I am only 14 and getting locked in his (my neighbors) bathroom wasn’t on my calender.
