An unspoken adage on the PGA Tour is, when you win you credit the golfer, but when you lose you blame the caddie. That is why fired Tiger Woods caddie Steve Williams caused such a stir Sunday when he failed to mention winner Adam Scott following his four stroke victory last Sunday. Not that it’s normal to interview the caddie after a tournament, but these were extraordinary circumstances and William just couldn’t find a way to be magnanimous. He has since apologized for his comments, an obvious dig at Woods as well as failing to mention Scott’s brilliant play, but the damage is done. For William he will forever have to take the good with the bad, and since Adam Scott is no Tiger Woods, there will surely be more dark days in Williams future. Will he take credit for that?
