Dozens Of Cars Vandalized Overnight In Antelope

ANTELOPE, Calif. (CBS13) – Dozens of car and truck windows were broken and smashed out in an overnight vandalism spree through the streets of Antelope, according to Sacramento County Sheriff's deputies.

Deputies first got a call shortly after 4:40 a.m. reporting a smashed car window on the 3900 block of Diane Drive. Other calls started flooding in after that from residents on Davidson Drive, Northam Drive and Citron Court who also had broken vehicle windows.

Deputies believe the vandals used a BB or pellet gun to break the windows, and think the same suspects are responsible for all of the crimes.

Victims are outraged by the senseless crime that seems to keep happening.

"Well, I don't like it but this is the third time in the last 8 years we've hat to replace the window," said vandalism victim Mary Ann Wilson. "Nothing's been stolen but the windows like for fun have been broken out."

Neighbor John Browning always keeps his vehicles in his garage and plans to keep up the practice after this vandalism spree.

"Just to have a good time? It just seems so senseless and it costs a lot of money and inconvenience to the owners of these vehicles," said Browning.

No suspect descriptions have been released.

Anyone with information regarding these vandalism incidents is asked to call the Sheriff's Department at (916) 874-5115, Crime Alert at (916) 443-HELP, or send a text message tip to 274637 (CRIMES) then enter SACTIP followed by the tip information. Callers can remain anonymous and may be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000.
