SACRAMENTO, Calif. (CBS13) – New legislation is being introduced today aimed at helping keep dangerous, life-term prisoners behind bars.

The Parole Reform Act is inspired by the Jaycee Lee Dugard case.

Senator Ted Gaines and others will be holding a press conference at the State Capitol today to discuss the details of the bill.

It comes on the heels of major criticism handed down to the parole system on how they handled Philip Garrido’s case.

I agree it’s about time. Hopefully this goes Nationally instead of just statewide. Jaycees story had lots of media coverage but I’ve recently read quit a few stories similiar to Jaycees that have happend all over the US and even overseas. Makes you think why haven’t we fixed the problem already?

I bet child sex is big business like everything else. I would not be surprised if a lot of pedeophiles were the ones calling the shots. Children in general are big business just like prisons are. If you have no prisoners you have no money. They get paid for EACH prisoner. Leave it to America to create that. I have even heard CPS has been involved because they get paid for taking children out of homes and putting them in foster homes where many are abused. They also get money for adopting them out. If no children were being taken out of homes by CPA HOW would they get a paycheck?. The minute someone is PROVED to BE A RAPIST OF CHILDREN they should remove his genetalia surgically. For other levels or degrees of sex crimes the punishment can be made to fit the crime. Also “victims who cry rape and are later found out to be false should also have severe penalties same as child molesters because when you accuse someone of that type of a crime you basically ruin their lives.

WE HAVE EXISTING LAWS IN PLACE THAT THE LEGAL SYSTEM AND LAW ENFORCEMENT IGNORE SO WE DO NOT NEED MORE LAWS THAT SENATORS WHO WANT NOTORIETY TO COVER UP THE TRUTH. WE HAVE LAWS ALREADY IN PLACE TO STOP SEX OFFENDERS AND REPEAT OFFENDERS. WE DO NOT NEED MORE LAWS TRYING TO KEEP EVERYONE IN PRISON FOR LIFE. NOT EVERYONE IS A MANSON OR A GARRINDO. STOP COVERING UP THE OBVIOUS…WE HAVE LAWS BUT LAW ENFORCEMENT AND THE LEGAL SYSTEM NEED TO DO THEIR JOB!

People we have laws in place already and do not need more laws written so senators can get their 15min of fame.
We have laws in place that law enforcement and our legal system need to use and do their job.
I have been working with abused adults and the consensus from law enforcement and our legal system is to ignore it until someone is dead or a severe case like Jaycees comes to light then everyone scrambles to cover their ass.
