Now Hiring: Roseville Krispy Kreme, Davis Irish Pub

ROSEVILLE (CBS 13) - A new Krispy Kreme donut shop opening attracted a big line of job seekers Tuesday morning in Roseville, and an Irish pub in downtown Sacramento is also hiring for a second location in Davis.

The popular donut chain is opening a new shop next month on Fairway Drive near the Galleria. But before opening, Krispy Kreme needs to fill about 70 positions.

Hundreds waited outside for a chance to interview, including one senior citizen who said the economy has made things difficult for her and others on fixed incomes.

"It's hard for us seniors," she said while in line. "We know a lot of young people need work, but seniors are in a hard place. The cost of living is going up but our pay doesn't go up."

There was another opportunity for job seekers Tuesday. DeVere's Irish Pub in downtown Sacramento is expanding – and hiring.

The restaurant's owner needs 60 employees in a variety of positions for a second location in Davis.

"Yesterday, we had about 120 people come down and we aren't making any decisions until we see everybody, so don't use that as an excuse," said co-owner Henry de Vere White. "If you need a job and you're good at what you do, come down -- we want to meet you."
