Bill Would Move To Eliminate Death Penalty In California

SACRAMENTO, (CBS13) - Lawmakers will consider a bill today that would kill the death penalty in California.

The Assembly Appropriations Committee will vote on whether to replace the death penalty with "life in prison without parole."

The bill's author argues that executions cost the state too much money,

And eliminating the death penalty would save the state $184 million a year.
