Audio: The Grant Napear Show - August 31, 2011

Grant had a full lineup of guests for the Wednesday edition continuing with team-by-team NFL previews and even getting into the lightly-occupied (at least by Grant) realm of college football.

Brian Baldinger of NFL Network lead things off with the revelation that he has reached an all-time high in personal flexibility, claiming in the first hour to have the ability to touch his head to his toes. Oh yeah, he also previewed the Philadelphia Eagles while offering some thoughts on teams around the league. Baldinger isn't sold that the Eagles are all they're cracked up to be, citing an inexperienced offensive line and a trip to the dome in St. Louis for week 1.

After that, it was on to George Schroeder of SI.com to spin some knowledge about the upcoming college football season. Oregon vs. LSU headlines the slate of opening weekend Top-25 action.

Grant then polled the listeners, asking why college football isn't popular in the Sacramento area. By and large, it was determined that the lack of fervor can be attributed to the dearth of successful programs in the area.

Getting back to NFL previews, former Arizona Cardinal Bertrand Berry laid out how the team is adjusting to change at the quarterback position and outlined the lack of depth in the defensive and offensive backfields. Berry says the Cardinals' experience could propel them to a division title in the weak NFC West.

Then, Raiders radio analyst Tom Flores gave some insight as to how the team will attack the 2011 season, including an evaluation of the preseason so far. Flores is encouraged by the fact the Jason Campbell and Al Saunders have worked together in the past. The Raiders' final preseason game kicks off at 7:30 Friday, with pregame festivities beginning at 7 pm right here on KHTK.
