UPDATE: Man, Woman Fatally Shot In Stockton

STOCKTON (CBS13) - Police in Stockton are looking for suspects who shot three people outside a Stockton home Monday night, killing two in a barrage of bullets.

The shooting happened around 8 p.m at a duplex on North Hunter and East Rose streets, where police say more than 30 shots were fired.

"I went to the corner, boom, boom, boom, boom," one neighbor said.

The male victim, 33, was identified as Juan Segura. The identity of the woman, 49, wasn't immediately available. A second man was taken to the hospital and is expected to survive.

Investigators were at the scene late into the night marking evidence including dozens of shell casings scattered in the street. Department of Justice investigators were at the home on Tuesday.

"They are here to reconstruct the scene to try and figure out where all of the players were and where the rounds were fired from," said Stockton Police Officer Pete Smith.

Segura was a neighbor who lived a few doors down, according to his father. According to neighbors, the woman was inside the home playing with children when she was shot in the head. Segura was on the porch when shot. The other male victim was also outside when shot and is recovering at an area hospital.

No suspect description has been released. Police believe the shooting was gang-related. Segura's father, Juan Segura Sr., said his son, a father himself, was not a gang member.

"He was a hard-working man," Segura Sr. said through a translator. "He had no fights with no one."

Whether Segura was a target or not wasn't clear, but Smith said the shooting "definitely was gang-related. We believe we have a couple of warring factions that are causing the lion's share of this violence."
