Roseville Police Arrest Suspects In Multiple Home Burglaries

ROSEVILLE (CBS13) -- Thanks in part to witness tips, police on Wednesday arrested two Sacramento residents suspected of burglarizing homes in Roseville and throughout the region, this following the arrest of two male suspects reported by residents in west Roseville on Tuesday.

Breanne Lee Rasmussen, 25, and Stephan Makarov, 26, both of Sacramento were arrested by Roseville police on suspicion of burglary, possession of stolen property, conspiracy and possession of heroin. Both are in custody in the Placer County Jail.

Roseville officers responded to a residential burglary in the 1500 block of Black Bear Steet at 5:45 p.m. Tuesday, and a witness in the area remembered seeing a black BMW sedan parked in front of the house earlier in the afternoon, with a man and woman loading property into the car.

"It's broad daylight, neighbors are home, so it's pretty brazen," said contractor Aaron Petersen, who was doing some work on the home for a couple who had just moved in.

A neighboor, Scott Gouveia, said the two suspects asked his daughter if she knew the couple and knew if they were home.

"That violation that someone's been in your home, it's just uncomfortable," Gouveia said. "It's hard to get comfortable in your house."

Just after midnight Wednesday morning, Placer County Sheriff's deputies located the suspect car at Thunder Valley Casino, detained Rasmussen and Makarov and notified Roseville police.

Some of the items stolen from the house on Black Bear Street were found in the car along with other stolen property, police said.

Rasmussen and Makarov are now being investigated in connection with several other home burglaries committed over the past year in Roseville and the surrounding area.

On Tuesday, police arrested two male suspects after witnesses reported suspicious activity in the Crocker Ranch neighborhood.

Residents reported that two males were knocking on doors. If someone answered the door, the males told the residents that they were looking for a lost dog. Later a residential burglary was reported in the same area, on Woodhaven Circle.

Police recovered a large amount of stolen property. Officers believe the suspects, who were not identified are connected to recent burglaries on Woodhaven Circle, Road Runner Drive, and Waterford Glen Circle, and possibly others.
