AEG Shows Interest In Building New Sacramento Arena

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) – An international powerhouse is showing interest in helping Sacramento build a new arena.

With just over five months left to deliver a new arena plan to Kings owners and the NBA, arena operator AEG has announced its interest in helping to build a new arena.

The announcement comes after a meeting between AEG and Sacramento Mayor Kevin Johnson on Friday.

The city will also look at whether to spend money on the new arena this week. A proposal to spend half a million dollars on consultants for the project will be up for discussion at the city council meeting.

How is this different from the Kings owners ponying up to build an unwanted arena? AEG is the Kings owners. See “http://www.signonsandiego.com/news/2011/apr/13/public-money-for-teams-at-an-end-aeg-says/?source=rss_teams_San_Diego_Chargers ”
So why are foolishly raiding room taxes on convention goers here and recklessly selling city assets still on the table here?
