Audio: The Don Geronimo Show - October 12, 2011

Today on The Don Geronimo Show, the main phone line is back up, but Noodles cut an "alternative phone number" piece for the show just in case that the guys think is hilarious, so Don plays it numerous times throughout the show. Don also tells us about his brother in law Tom flying in to Sac International, but that he flew in to Terminal A, Don didn't get to go check out the new terminal that just opened. Don also tells us about how Janet did not hesitate to tell Tom that Don is an idiot, after his mishap with their new TV. We also hear a story about teenage kids soaking their Gummy Bears in vodka to get drunk in school, which gets the guys off on a tangent about Mormon soaking. Don also tells us he wants the listeners to bring their dogs to the station on Halloween morning dressed in costumes.

It's then time for the latest episode of Kissing Couzens. Today, a very special guest appearance by Montel Williams, played by Little Joe. The guys then get into a discussion about a story in the Boston Globe and posted on deadspin.com about the Red Sox epic meltdown at the end of the season, which leads Don to talk about how sports leagues would be ran in his "perfect world." In Don's world, not only would drugs be allowed, each team would be required to be on one particular drug, and have to play teams that were on other drugs, for example, the Alcoholics vs the Stoners. The listeners call and text in with their ideas for teams in this league as well.

Don then plays a series of clips involving Wade Boggs drinking 64 beers on a cross country flight, Dock Ellis being on LSD when he pitched a no-hitter for the Pirates in 1970, and people betting $420 on The Price Is Right. Don also calls a guy in New York who is involved with "Occupy Wall St." to get an understanding of what is really going on with these protests. It's then time for the guys to play the "Spanish Movie Game," in which famous movies are played in Spanish, and the guys have to guess which movie it is. We also hear a clip from a 911 call where a family got lost in a corn maze, and we also get to hear Hank Williams Jr. on The View, and trailers for the new Avengers movie.

Tom Couzens from the Sacramento Bee dropped Don an email regarding Kissing Couzens, Don's new soap opera and tribute to the columnist. Don reads the email on the air, and once again, proceeds to rip Couzens a new one. The guys also talk about how Couzens called Joe yesterday after the show, just to ask a stupid question. Then it's time for the "Phantom News Hour." Among the stories today, the GOP debate, the cancellation of NBA games this year, the new Tim Allen sitcom, and the Conrad Murray trial. And of course, Don wraps everything up with a happy ending!
