Audio: The Grant Napear Show - October 14, 2011

Today on the Grant Napear Show it was a bevy of guests once again. When there weren't guests, Grant talked about the upcoming week in the NFL, and made his picks. Grant took calls about the NBA labor disagreement, as well as callers' upsets and locks for this week in the NFL. Today Grant interviewed Dennis Green, Ted Robinson, Jack Youngblood, Greg Amsinger, and Marc Spears.

Sacramento Mountain Lions head coach Dennis Green was on with Grant today. Coach talked about some key injuries for the Mountain Lions, and who will be playing and who won't. Then Grant and Coach talked about former Sacramento State quarterback McLeod Bethel-Thompson who will be playing for the Mountain Lions this weekend against Virginia. They also talked about the Mountain Lions' 28-6 loss last week to Virginia.

San Francisco 49ers radio play-by-play man Ted Robinson came on with Grant today. First they talked about Andrew Luck and the Stanford Cardinal, who Ted is covering on Saturday for the Versus. Then they talked about Marv Albert and other influential sports broadcasters. Grant also asked about the 49ers game on Sunday against the Detroit and Ndamukong Suh, and what the 49ers need to do to stop him and beat the undefeated Lions.

Hall-of-Famer and former Los Angeles Rams' Defensive End Jack Youngblood was on with Grant today. They first talked about a couple of stories from the past, calling Canadian Football League games together. Then they talked about Jack's playing days, before delving into talking about Jack's book, Because It Was Sunday- The Legend of Jack Youngblood. After that they recounted some of Jack's memories of his Hall of Fame career in the NFL.

Greg Amsinger from the MLB Network came on with Grant to talk about the MLB Postseason. Leading off, they talked about the NLCS, and what the Brewers and Cardinals each need to do to win the series. Then Greg talked about shutting down each team's superstar hitters and why teams continue to pitch to them. Greg and Grant also talked about the current issues going on in the Boston Red Sox organization.

Marc Spears from YahooSports.com was on with Grant today. He came on to talk about the ongoing labor negotiations between the NBA owners and players. Marc also talked about the federal mediator coming in on Monday, and the meeting on Tuesday, as well as the possibility of NBA games being cancelled through Christmas.
