Jack-Knifed Big Rig Causes Traffic Back-Up On Highway 99

MODESTO (CBS13) – Traffic is still sluggish on southbound Highway 99 in Modesto after a big rig tangled with several cars.

The accident happened just minutes after 8:30 this morning in the southbound lanes of Highway 99 near Briggsmore Avenue.

The big rig jack-knifed and blocked at least two lanes. Several cars were knocked off the roadway and into the median.

Crews are working to clear the last of the cars. CHP hopes to have the crash cleared by 12:30 p.m.

There are no reports of serious injuries.

    Did this happen in one of those” no white lines on the roadway” areas that are popping up here in CA. We are just suppossed to guess where the hell the lane is in some places. I understand road construction but come on give us a clue with some CHEAP paint
